I have thought about the social media and branding of my very 'real' artist. My artist has decided to be faceless, or not show her face on the media. Her name is Seven... because why not? The number seven is a sign of good luck and if you think about it, seven is all around. Seven continents, seven seas, seven days, seven sins, there are many more indications of seven but it would take too long to explain. Seven is also 'her' favorite number.

Portfolio Week Two - Day Two

Social Media research
Media text: Yeat (rapper)
Social media tool: Instagram/youtube
Description of types of posts:
Instagram:
- Very minimalistic, has only six posts in the last two years but posts multiple at a time.
- His post vary from pictures of himself to pictures of behind the scenes in a music video; to album covers and promos.
Youtube:
- only a handful of music videos, but all follow the same mix of abstract/promo
Description of how branding is developed (or not):
His branding is hard to miss, Yeat dresses himself in unusual masks and coats, the editing in his videos is very futuristic and abstract. Yeat has also been promoting the number 2093 in every story or post. He's had 2093 in his bio for months without explaining. We all just expected the next album was going to be futuristic.
Analysis of how you will use this to develop your own social media presence:
Media text: BNYX (producer)
Social media tool: Instagram/Youtube
Description of types of posts:
Instagram - He post much more often than Yeat; he post his collaboration with other artists and celebrates his chart makings.

BNYX collab with Yeat |

BNYX Collab with Quavo |
Youtube - He post shorts and videos of the making of his beats.
Description of how branding is developed (or not):
BNYX doesn't have much of a branding besides being a rap producer with a good vibe. His post represent that, he's easygoing and good at what he does which makes him so desirable.
Analysis of how you will use this to develop your own social media presence: I'll definitely use of the humor he uses to promote and increase collabs.
Media text: Metro Boomin (producer)
Social media tool: Instagram
Description of types of posts: Promotional, couple times a month. Posts of his works, himself, key art, and collaborations.
Description of how branding is developed (or not):
Branding is very clear especially by his instagram where he posted and pinned teasers and trailers of his albums. His brand is superheroes and villains shown in key art posted.
Analysis of how you will use this to develop your own social media presence:
I would enjoy doing teasers or extra clips of bloopers to upload.

Portfolio Grind
It came to me in a dream...
I had finally given up on finding an artist and decided to use one of my friend beats or a non-copyright beat I found online. The reason I chose this is because I am focused, scratch that, infatuated with a story in my head, one that I've seen happen to me, my friends, online, and in a novel.
Unfortunately for you, I will not reveal such story line in this post. I'm writing this post because I cannot sleep until the idea is planted and deep-rooted in my brain for later purposes. What I will reveal is the themes in my story. Situationships and Soul ties.
Situationships are complicated and hard to define. Here's my definition, its when two people have official feelings for each other but cannot commit to a labeled relationship.
Soul-ties are easier to explain but harder to display on film. A soul-tie is when one or both parties in a relationship have a deep rooted connection that allows them to feel each others feeling at a given moment when the other is most likely calling out to them or thinking of them. For example, people have spoken out about ear ringing and other noise cancels out when soul ties activate. They are easier to notice when in a social gathering with other people, the talking fades and all you can hear is ringing and you suddenly feel different. The feelings vary and are often irregular to how you should feel in the given moment. At a party, if it were to activate and you were to start feeling sad and/or empty, most likely those are not your feelings that you are feeling.

Portfolio Schedule Review
After reviewing the recommended schedule I realized a couple of things.
Media Portfolio Project Schedule
Unfortunately I started a little late but I have organized the weeks I have left according to my timeline. There are many similarities with my timeline and the sample, however some key differences are that I added deadlines and dates to my timeline as to help keep track. My first week is dedicated to research and decision-making. I do not believe I will be developing any ideas until I sit down with the artist, which I plan to do in week two. Week two is dedicated to communication with the artist; finding out what they would like to do and how we can make it happen. It is also dedicated to planning; storyboard, locations, editing, costumes, and what to buy. Week Three is when we create the social media page and begin designing the key art; we will also review the outline for music video one last time before filming. Week four and five are dedicated to filming and reviewing the clips. Week six is solely dedicated to editing. Week seven will be finishing touches. Week eight will be doing and posting the CCR .
